“Wonderful experience at Kinji during my first trip to Japan. Discovered a lightly used Burberry trench that I have been seeking for years. Thank you Kinji for a wonderful end to my trip ! I’ll be back 💖”
“Some of the most grotesquely priced used clothing you’ll ever see. You’ll hear all over TikTok how thrifting and vintage shopping is so great and affordable in Japan, and depending on the location this is true. When I was in Kyoto, the Kinji I visited was way better priced and actually had some great finds. This is not the case for this location in Harajuku. Displayed around the store are some of the most modern and cheap anime t-shirts for abhorrent prices, nearly 4000 Yen for a $20 Walmart anime tee? You’re absurd in the head! Don’t get me wrong, this place has some great pieces, just make sure to come here ready to drop $120 on a champion crewneck that was from 2018. I refused to support that prices used clothing like this and honestly seems like they’re trying to sell this idea of “vintage” on clearly non vintage pieces.”
“It was a good selection and I liked a lot of the sweaters but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for them. I’m really glad I waited because when I went to Off House later, the prices were way better! Definitely go there instead. Or do Kinji if you’ve got money 🤷♀️”
“At 6 PM on February 15th (Japan time), I was shopping for clothes at this second-hand store. Unfortunately, while waiting for a fitting room in the men’s section, only one was available. The customer ahead of me took a long time, so I had to wait quite a while. The staff member in the photo clearly saw me but acted as if I were invisible. What’s frustrating is that a non-Asian customer who lined up behind me received a warm welcome—the staff enthusiastically said, “Thank you!” But when they saw an Asian face, they suddenly went mute? Arguing with someone who lacks basic manners is just a waste of my valuable time. By the way, there was no store manager around at the time, so I translated my words into Japanese and showed them to the cashier with a lip piercing. However, they had absolutely no reaction—not even an apology. I’m not expecting to be treated like royalty, but do they not even understand basic courtesy? It’s honestly shocking. Seeing other reviews on Google also mentioning the staff’s bad attitude, all I can say is—it might be easier to think of this place as an unmanned second-hand warehouse. I’m sure it’s thanks to the store manager’s “dedicated management” that they have such “outstanding” employees. After all, there’s a reason why humans are called humans.”
“Really nice selection of vintage clothing to shoes and jackets definitely worth a checkout! There’s definitely some hidden gems to be found. Worth a checkout if your into thrifting”
